BELIEVE in your ability to succeed!
Hello,
I’m Carla Gutierrez I am currently a senior at Fraser High School, and an employee at McDonald's. Prior to researching, my expected college was baker college of Clinton twp. to become a pharmacy technician; however, after reading, and talking to others about my decision, I have chosen what will benefit my future the most: I have decided to attend Macomb Community College. In the future I hope to attend Wayne State University to work on my Pharm D degree to become a full licensed pharmacist. I have always been the type of person who puts others before myself even if I should be the main focus. I enjoy brightening up others days when life seems to be hitting them hard. My friends would say I am a nice, loving, caring, smart, and strong person. Most friends confide in me with advice and personal issues and trust me when few will listen. My father recently passed away in 2011 due to a brain cancer battle of 14 months. My fathers passing showed me that life is too short to take for granted and that I should embrace any knowledge I can and use it to my advantage. His sickness encouraged me to get involved with learning about cancer and helping families in need .While my father was around he always told me, " Education is the key in life and will make you successful so you can take care of your parents". My father was always strict about my education and always wanted me to go the extra mile. From his encouragement I have taken lead and will pursue my dream career as a pharmacist. My other inspiration is my mom, she is the strongest person i know: she is the one that keeps me in line. She truly is a hero in my eyes with every thing she has done for me and my family. I feel that I AM a leader, but a leader in training. Due to all the hardships I have had in my life. This has showed me how to take control, how to manage myself under pressure, and learn to deal with difficult situations. Friends would say that they can’t believe how strong i am and they don’t understand how I can manage myself through such a difficult time. Although I wonder this myself, but I tell them it’s the ability to lead and show them that they can do it as well. Throughout high school I am currently a member of HOSA and the Fraser marching band. With these events it has taught me how to be prompt and encouraging to others to get involved and be a part of as many clubs that interest you throughout high school because it has such a positive impact on your life and other people that you help. Although I do little community service, the service I do is something that I am interested in which is helping cancer patients, and donating money and my service to any cancer program I can.
